The Barrie Police Service Fraud Unit is issuing a warning to the public concerning an internet based loan company.
In July 2011, advertisements were purchased in the Barrie media for a company called “E.T.C Financial Corp” which could be located on the internet at www.etcfinancial.com.
The Barrie Police Service, Criminal Investigation Division, Fraud and eCrimes Unit would like to make the public aware of a telephone scam that has popped up in the City of Barrie in the last few days.
The Barrie Police Fraud Unit is warning residents today about a computer virus fraud. Victims will recieve an email or telephone call saying that they have a virus on their computer and the steps they need to take to get rid of it.
